The first "CAE Conference on Mold Production and Research Association Annual Conference" and "2010 International CAE Molding Technology Conference" were held at the Xiamen University of Technology. Mold technology is an important indicator of a country's product manufacturing level. In particular, computer-aided engineering (abbreviation "CAE") mold forming technology has become a hot topic in the mold industry. To this end, Taiwan's Computer Aided Forming Technology Exchange Association initiated the establishment of the "CAE Mold University Production and Research Alliance" last year, and is committed to creating an integrated platform for cross-strait three real estate cooperation and technology exchanges, and promoting the transformation of China from a manufacturing country to a manufacturing powerhouse.

The “CAE Mold University-Industry-Study Alliance” plans to select 100 colleges and 1000 mold enterprises in three places across the Taiwan Strait to carry out industry-academia cooperation. Each university can receive 30 free sets of mold design and development software developed by experts of this alliance organization. It is used in daily teaching, cultivates students' professional application skills of mold software, transports talents and technologies for member companies, promotes industrial and academic cooperation and technological exchanges, and accelerates the rapid transfer of CAE mold forming technology.

Last year, Xiamen University of Technology became the first university in Fujian Province to join the alliance. At the opening ceremony, it also announced the establishment of the "Cross-Strait CAE Molding Technology Research and Exchange Center." Principal Huang Hongwu said that the college closely responded to the rapid development of Xiamen's mold industry. At present, it has established a relatively complete mold professional system. In the future, it will make full use of the resources of the “CAE mold university-university industry-university alliance” in the three sides of the Taiwan Strait to study mold design and molding technology.
