North Oaks has a variety of methods for determining PAH content

China Drying Network News Beijing Test and Testing Center of Rubber Industry Research and Design Institute recently established a gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) method for the determination of eight, sixteen, and eighteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in rubber tires. The determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in vulcanizates by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) and the method of determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (IP-346) content in previous oil-filled oils have been used by North Oaks to determine various levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

PAHs are strong carcinogens, and tires containing PAHs release benzene-based carcinogens due to friction during use, which poses a hazard to the environment and human health. The Regulations on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) test it. The method is clearly defined. On November 29, 2011, the German GS certification technical document ZEK 01.4-08 was released, and the testing requirements for PAHs were updated. The type of the PAHs was expanded from the original 16 to 18, and implemented from July 1, 2012.
