Laser printers account for about 80% of the Chinese print market

Third-party research organization Sullivan estimated that the market size of China's printing equipment has exceeded RMB 50 billion in 2015. Among them, laser printers account for about 80% of the market share of the Chinese printing equipment market.

Stanley's global partner and president of Greater China, Wang Hao, said that China's printing equipment market is relatively concentrated and dominated by international brands such as Hewlett-Packard, Canon, and Epson. The top five brands accounted for about 88% of the market share, of which Hewlett-Packard ranked first with about 40% of the market share. Samsung and Fuji Xerox ranked second and third with 18% and 11% respectively. The market shares of Canon, Brother, Lenovo, Ricoh and Lexmark were 10%, 9.2%, 6.3%, 1.5% and 0.7%, respectively.

According to the First Financial Report, Hewlett-Packard sold 136,000 desk-top printers through e-commerce platforms such as Tmall and Jingdong during the “Double 11” period. Canon and Epson subsequently sold 52,000 and 23,000 units respectively. Fuji Xerox sold about 13,000 units.

With its advantages in low-end market products, HP has occupied the first place in the Chinese market for many years. In high-end market products, such as A3 digital multi-function machines, Fuji Xerox and other brands are even more dominant. According to IDC, Fuji Xerox has more than half of the market share of high-end color printers in Japan, China and other Asian regions.

According to estimates by Fuji Xerox, China's low-end printing equipment (A4 format) (A4 format) has a market size of 23 billion yuan.
