The waterproof protection of the monitoring equipment can effectively protect the equipment from intrusion and prolong the service life. In addition to the protective capabilities already possessed by the device itself, the waterproofing of the cable and the angle of installation of the dome or bracket of the dome have a great influence on the waterproofing during the installation of the outdoor camera and the dome. Even if the equipment has waterproof protection level for outdoor installation, it should take reasonable waterproof protection, otherwise the camera will not be waterproof. The following are several methods and precautions for waterproof protection.
First, the camera waterproof tape installation
Some network cameras are shipped with waterproof tape. The installation steps for waterproof tape are as follows:
1. Please remove the yellow release paper on the back of the supplied waterproof tape.
2. Stretch the waterproof tape to both ends and stretch it to about 2 times the original length.
3. After stretching, the waterproof tape is tightly wrapped around the terminal block and the nearby cable in a semi-lap type until the terminal and the adjacent cable are wrapped in the waterproof tape. Please keep the waterproof tape in the winding process. In a tight state.
Note: When some network cameras are shipped from the factory, the cables are bare wires. When the waterproof tape is installed, the cables near the bare wires need to be wrapped around the waterproof tape.
4. Press the waterproof tape on both sides of the terminal to achieve insulation sealing. The left side of the figure shows the terminal pressing method, and the right side is the bare wire pressing method.
Second, the camera network port waterproof cover installation
Some network cameras are equipped with a network port waterproof cover when shipped from the factory. If you are installing outdoors, you need to install a waterproof cover for the network port:
1. If you have already laid out the cable, please cut the crystal head of the end of the network connected to the camera. The cable passes through the fastening nut, waterproof rubber ring and waterproof cap body as shown above.
2. Insert the waterproof rubber ring into the main body of the waterproof cap to increase the sealing property;
3. Make the crystal head of the network cable and put the O-shaped rubber ring on the network port of the camera;
4. Insert the prepared network cable into the network port, put the waterproof cap body on the end of the mesh port, and screw the fastening nut clockwise into the main body of the waterproof cap. When the main body of the waterproof cap is screwed into the network port, please keep the buckle of the mesh port and The notch of the main body of the waterproof cap is aligned, and the waterproof cover of the mesh port is installed as shown below.
Third, outdoor ball machine waterproof installation
The outdoor ball machine adopts an integrated structure design, and the connection mode of the quick-fit adapter makes it have certain protection capability, but the wrong installation method may still cause water inflow.
1. Precautions for the installation of the L-shaped pole of the ball machine: The end of the crossbar installation ball machine should have a certain upward angle, as shown in the figure, even if the crossbar is not well sealed or the corrosion of the crossbar is caused by long-term corrosion, the water is also It will flow out along the pole due to gravity and will not be poured to the top of the dome.
2. Precautions for the long arm bracket of the ball machine: The long wall bracket is suitable for outdoor use. The bracket has a certain inclination angle, and the ball machine is not easy to enter the water, as shown in the following figure. At the same time, the long wall mount bracket can also be used for the outdoor installation. The bracket and the corner bracket are used together.

When the L-bar is used for the installation of the pole, it is recommended that the crossbar has a certain upward angle to prevent the rainwater from being poured into the top of the dome due to poor sealing of the crossbar;
It is recommended to use a long wall mount bracket for outdoor ball wall installation. It is not recommended to use a short wall mount bracket or a ceiling mount bracket;
If the outdoor ball installation needs to be hoisted, a special waterproof lifting bracket is required, and the indoor lifting bracket cannot be applied to the outdoor environment;
For the self-selecting bracket installation, it is recommended to use the bracket with the internal thread for the connection, and ensure the waterproof performance of the bracket;
Pay attention to the waterproof connection of the terminal of the cable to prevent image abnormality caused by rust. The power adapter should be placed in the distribution box.
Indoor model ball machines should not be exposed to places that may be exposed to rain or very humid.
