Experts call for granting a permit for small electric vehicles as soon as possible

At the recent 2014 China Electric Vehicle Development High-level Juzhi Summit, experts from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Yang Yusheng and Guo Konghui, and other experts called for the granting of small electric vehicles as soon as possible.

Electric bicycles are low-carbon, environmentally-friendly and convenient green and energy-saving vehicles. People are indispensable for short trips. At the same time, China's electric vehicle industry has entered a critical period, and the development of new energy vehicles has risen to a national strategy. In particular, the nationwide two sessions will be held soon and the relevant national policies will be ready.

Yang Yusheng, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, believes that micro- and small-utility pure electric vehicles should be encouraged. Their structure is simple, they are easy to use and maintain, they are energy-saving and environmentally friendly, and their prices are low. Battery manufacturers can also transform from serving electric bicycles to serving electric vehicles. He suggested that “sales should be allowed in the country as soon as possible”. Once the policy is released, several companies with an annual output of 200,000 light-duty electric vehicles can quickly emerge. Academician Guo Konghui of the Chinese Academy of Engineering pointed out that the development of electric vehicles in China is in rural areas and small cities. It is necessary to realistically formulate different levels of electric vehicle standards, maximum speeds, and continued mileage, and then let the market choose. For small electric vehicles, permits should be given as soon as possible to include legal management of road traffic. Ma Zhongchao, chairman of the China Bicycle Association, pointed out that electric bicycles produced and sold about 35 million vehicles in 2013, employing more than 2 million people, and now has more than 200 million social possessions, but rigid demand and market space still exist. The old national standards for electric bicycles have been unable to adapt to the development of the industry. The revision of the new national standard is imminent.

Tian Tianren, chairman of Tianneng Group, believes that the current imperfections in the industry standards and industrial policies of electric bicycles and electric vehicles have become the bottleneck restricting the healthy development of the electric vehicle industry. The decisive role of the market has not been effectively reflected, and it is urgent to unite the government, industry, and enterprise. The wisdom and strength of the media and other aspects are jointly exploited. How to grasp and use sufficient opportunities has become a common issue facing the current electric vehicle industry. He said that Tianneng Battery, as an important part of the electric vehicle industry chain, has grown, developed and expanded with China's new energy electric vehicle industry. At the same time, as the representative of the National People's Congress, he himself has the responsibility and obligation to bring the voice of the industry to the two sessions of the country and provide policy makers with decision-making references.
