British PSI develops new lightweight metal powder atomization equipment

The UK atomization equipment manufacturer Phoenix Scientific Industries (PSI) has developed a newly designed continuous atomization device for the production of high quality light metal powders. The development of PSI's new equipment is based on its widely adopted Hermiga tightly coupled gas atomization technology.
The equipment has the ability to produce more than 500 tons of industrial-grade manganese powder per year. The intelligent management system allows argon to be recycled, which greatly reduces the consumption of this expensive raw material gas, thereby reducing production costs.
The equipment ensures the safe operation of the potentially volatile active metal atomization process by controlling the mixing of gases required for metal passivation. Cooling systems throughout the equipment maintain the thermal balance in safe operating parameters. Given the critical importance of equipment operator safety, control of the atomization equipment and data acquisition are centralized on one computer/programmable controller centralized console, which is set away from the atomizer production area.
PSI's continuous atomization equipment produces high-quality, light-weight active metal powder at a lower cost than other similar mass production equipment.
