It is reported that Asahi Kasei Chemicals Co., Ltd. recently stated that the company's previously announced construction of a new set of solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR) equipment on Jurong Island in Singapore has broken ground. The company announced the plan last October. The first phase of the plant construction will be completed in May 2013, when it will produce 50,000 tons/year SSBR. The second stage of construction will be completed in early 2015, when the output will reach 100,000 tons/year.
